Anthony Fry

Anthony is a researcher and consultant in the South African water sector. His particular interest is in human-centered rural development initiatives embedded in multi-level ecological, social, and technical landscapes.

Anthony began his academic career with a BSc in civil engineering, during which he focused on integrated water management systems and water sensitive design. Over the years he has expanded on these academic skills through a range of practical experiences working and volunteering in agriculture and education initiatives. In 2023, he completed his PhD in water resource science; a qualitative systemic analysis of participatory governance processes in the rural Eastern Cape of South Africa.

He began working as an associate with Resilient Conservation in 2023 and is collaborating on a IUCN-funded project which aims to transform the conversation around the sustainable use of African Elephants.
